Today in chaos we have been tasked to make a single poster on one topic relating to medieval times. my Topic is when toilet paper wasn't invented yet.

What was life like as a peasant in medieval times? Well basically, this is an easy answer and everybody should probably know it’s Sad, Torture, Tiring, Stress, and non-hygienic. They always have to do the dirty work for the noble people so that they can live. Most importantly they were slaves to the noble people. The evidence is from a book (Epididmas through time) representing a peasants life and showing the POV of one, informing us the peasant’s jobs and hardship. Overall a peasant’s life was very grim and pitiful. 

How was torture during medieval times? Toture during the medieval times was a series of contraptions and equipment methods either to get the victim to confess something or to kill. One of the contraptions is called 'the rack', this contraption is used to stretch arms and legs. They do this by tying a rope to the arms and legs and they tie it to the wheel, they would crank the wheel and it would stretch the victim's arms and legs. This is used to make them confess information they would need and if they don't confess they will split in half. This is information was found in the 'Wikipedia'. Overall torture in medieval times was painful.

Separating a Mixture using Evaporation

Solute: Solid - Copper Sulfate

Solvent: Liquid - Water

A Solution is when a solid is dissolved into a liquid.

Aim: To find out what will happen to the Copper Sulfate

Hypothesis: I think that the Solute (Copper Sulfate Solution) will be dissolved because of the heat and it will be turned into a liquid instead of a solid since its being evaporated. The way we are doing this is basically the way on how to cook dumplings.

Equipment: Copper Sulfate Solution, 250mL Beaker, heatproof mat, evaporating basin, element.

At the start of the experiment we started with a solution which is Copper Sulfate. Then we put 100mL of water (Solvent) into a beacker and we got a tiny bowl that's fits over the beacker and poured a quarter of Copper Sulfate into the tiny bowl. Next we put the beacker that has the tiny bowl over it, onto a element and turned it on. After that we observed it until it was boiling. When it was boiling we could see that the heat  has been evaportaing the water in the Copper Sulfate and leaving the solute there which is the crystals.   

My hypothesis is incorrect since I did not notice that the boiling water would evaporate the water in the Copper Sulfate. 

I kinda liked this experiment since it was something new and learning these types of things can be a little hard but if you understand them more you start learning about them more frequently.

Today in Business Studies we have been learning about savings/budgeting. So I'm here to show you my learning so far, to you guys. Plus this might teach you something about savings. I have made a cartoon slide to show you the basic's of savings sit back relax and enjoy. 

So what is Savings and why is it important? Savings is basically an extra amount of money (income not spent) that you have but in a place where it is safe. You could use it to be more secure in life just in case a bump in the road might occur. This bump is thought to be bills and fees etc. 

How do you get a savings account? Well if you don't want to do it with you could just get a piggy bank or you could do this step by step savings account guide.

1. Compare your options. 

2. There are many financial institutions that offer savings accounts. 

3. Gather the required documents.

4. Choose a joint or individual account. 

5. Fund your account. 

6. Submit your application. 

7. Set up online banking. 

8. Interest rate. 

9. Fees.

(Mention choose a trustworthy bank of your choosing)

So what went well and what didn't go well during this? I guess what went well during this learning experience is that I could do an animation relating to this subject. What didn't go well is that it took a long time to make it. I feel like my learning is understandable to other people and I would like some feedback from people if it was difficult to understand or something I missed, it would be highly appreciated. I have used one website for this, the link is underlined and blue with the word guide if you wanted to know. Plus I've already learned this but it was still fun.

Dilution Experiment

Definition of Dilution: Making something less concentrated. There will be less particles in the liquid.

A dilute solution contains a small amount of solute.

Filtration Experiment

Aim: Separate a mixture we have made using filtration.

Hypothesis: By filtrating, the mixture, which they are both liquids( Copper Sulfate & Sodium carbonate), the liquid will turn pale blue, it will not separate because they got the same size particles.

METHOD:

1. Pour approximately 50mL of Copper Sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form called copper carbonate.

 

3.fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask.

 

5. we Stirred the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel. 

6. Observe what happened.

(Hypothesis is wrong)

Results: We started with clear and light blue chemicals that were both see-through, then we mixed them and they went to a non-see-through solid in the water. Then we filtered them and we waited for the filtration to happen and finally, we saw that it made a clear liquid the non-see-through part was a solid, filtering it removed the solid which is the copper carbonate. Why did this happen? This happened because the copper carbonate was mixed into the Sodium Carbonate, which then has made the blue solid precipitate. After Filtrating the combined mixture the Sodium Carbonate has been separated from the Copper Sulfate because the Copper Sulfate has been turned into a solid. making the Copper Sulfate go down the funnel.

Copper Sulfate + Sodium Carbonate ----> Copper Carbonate + Sodium Sulfate + Sodium Sulfate.

PE Gymnastics

Today my focus is on some card activities in gymnastics The 3 activities where one was a roll through a hoop, and I did a flip of tramp onto a foam block, and also I managed to jump over the cone on the beam but I only did it once and couldn't get the recording because I was too scared to do it again.

Overall this experience was fun and I would do it again.
