DTE Assessment Reflection

In DTE, My group and I have been assigned to do a Sphero project. This involves coding, construction, and participation. 

We were thinking of building the Mad Max vehicle but then we decided to build a colosseum. After we made our plan we needed some parts for our project,. Then I started to look for some printout paper on google. I had found some of the parts of the took a millennium and it basically took li colosseum on google, but then we needed Mr Carter to print them out. As soon as Mr Carter printed them out we started cutting the parts of the paper we needed, but we had a few human errors during some periods. It has taken quite some time since cutting spike strips precise 7 - 8 minutes just to cut 1 spikey strip. So... this took a really long time and it was basically just us cutting paper for like periods, plus we didn't even know if we were going to finish on time. I could say this is a catastrophe but we tweaked with the plan, this time we changed the plan and now it's way different this time we thought of cardboard in our idea, and we could basically shape it to what we want, so that's what we went with. To keep in mind we were still using some of the paper for the decoration so we could make the cardboard look more authentic, but the coding was still a problem. We didn't really know what to do besides the move feature so we started practising with some features with the sphero app. 

Personal Reflection:

Overall this has been a fun learning experience coding and constructing and I would probably do this again because it was quite interesting to learn. It was kinda hard coding and we didn't really know what to do so we basically just made them clang into each other by just making the Spheros move into each other with these codes. Although the cutting was the worst part, those spikes had my butt clenched cause you had to be so precise.

Budgeting Guide

Welcome to my blog and today's post is that I have been working on a budgeting guide that might help your budgeting plan succeed, and it might help you learn some new tips and tricks.

What is budgeting? A budget is the amount of money you can spend on future plans like parties etc. This is a very important thing that everybody should learn just in case you got a future event you have. But why do we need a budget? and How does it help us? Well here is a warning if you don't have a budget, you'll probably end up spending money that you don't even know how much you are spending, leading you to spend a lot. So you should use budgets to know how much you are actually spending, and here's why I made this poster/infographic, its to help you and teach you some tips and tricks about budgeting.

What can we do? (to budget) 

1. Step 1: Note your net income. The first step in creating a budget is to identify the amount of money you have coming in. 
2. Step 2: Track your spending. 
3. Step 3: Set your goals. 
4. Step 4: Make a plan. 
5. Step 5: Adjust your habits if necessary. 
6. Step 6: Keep checking in.

As I was learning I have learned some tips, tricks, skills, etc. like for an example, and I've also learned how to organize a budget and more, and I also had some fun overall this experience was a fun learning experience and this could help me one day with budgeting. What went well in this assignment is that I get to be creative, and I guess what didn't go well is that I had to end up doing this on the weekends which is Halloween because I tried to be too creative. I hope this poster/infographic taught you something today :).

 Today I focused on doing a rolly poly 

The 3 main points were: 

1. Bend towards from the same standing position and then lean forward and touch your hands to the mat with your legs sill straight. Only go as far as your bodily will allow.

2. Crouch down onto the mat with your hands on either side of your knees. Tuck your head into your chest. When ready, use your feet to slightly push you over.

3. Land on your feet. You will wind up back on your feet after one rotation and can continue to propel yourself forward to perform multiple rolls by repeating the previous step as many times as you’d like

In business, I have been assigned to make a budgeting crossword. I have included the meanings to some budgeting keywords and you guys can try and figure out what these budgeting keywords are. 

After researching various amounts of these words/meanings relating to the word 'Budgeting' I had some fun learning these, mostly because I don't know some of them, also mainly these words are needed when your older to help with bills, money etc, but I guess its a good idea to learn about them now so we don't have to worry and stress when we get older.

Answers if you get stuck because I suck at writing definitions

Budget: An amount of money you can spend

Income: receiving money for doing a job/work

Savings: An Income not spent and instead of putting aside

Surplus: When you have more money than you need, example cash is money left over after you have paid all of your bills

Deficit: When there isn't a sufficient amount of money to cover all of the expenses and debts

Spend: To give money for goods or services

Wants: To have a desire to own or do

Needs: An absolute craving of man to possess

Finance: The management of large amounts of money, like from governments or large companies

Price Fees: A fixed price charged for a specific service

Necessity: A requirement to survive.

Exchange: To give up something for something else

Mixtures & Dissolving

Today in chemicals we did an experiment that involves mixing & dissolving, But we must know what mixing & dissolving is. So basically two substances that are evenly mixed together. One of them is called the solute and the other is the solvent. A solute is a substance that can be dissolved (sugar) and the solvent is the one doing the dissolving (water)

On to the experiment we had 2 beakers (one large/one small)  one was to store the sugar and the other one was to hold cold water and hot water, also we had a spatula to put the sugar in the beaker. Our aim was to see how fast the sugar will dissolve into the water. Also, a reminder that there are multiple groups doing this experiment as well.

First, we had filled the large beaker with 50ml's of cold water. Then with the spatula, we put sugar in the beaker that was filled with cold water then stirred it. We also had to use a timer as soon as we put the sugar in and until it has fully dissolved we had to stop the timer to get our results. Our result was 59 seconds but the average result for this is 54 seconds. Then we did the same thing but with hot water and it went quicker than usual since the hot water was making the sugar make more space between them, and then our result was 25 seconds but the average time was 29.75 seconds.

We did the same thing again but without stirring the water, and our results for this are 90 seconds also with hot water but the average result was 76.2 seconds. Then we did the same thing again but with cold water and our results were 360 seconds and the average result was 136.8 seconds
