Growth Mindset
In the last two weeks, we have looked at Resilence - Emotional Awareness (understanding emotions) and Impulses. I have come to realize that Reslience means to recover quickly from difficulties, Emotional Awareness is the ability to recognise and make sense of not just your own emotions, but also those of others and Impulses means the ability to enhance or reduce your emotions as needed. It's the ability to know what you're feeling and what to do about it in any environment.
Being able to control my emotions in different situations avoids conflict and helps me have a better outcome/being assertive.
Knowing how to react and respond in situations rather than acting in impulses means that to reduce or enchance my emotions as needed.

Lincoln C & Jeff L Sustainability Investigation
Sustainability Investigation
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our topic
Which part of the school has the most rubbish on the ground
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem/& Plan:
Identify a Sustainability topic you can investigate
Plan out how you will collect data
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plan: Go around the school and find out where the most rubbish is. The area we are going to see is the field, basketball courts, playground, etc, and we’ll put the numbers on a tally table then see where is the most area that has the most rubbish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Data Collection:
Collect your data.
Note any issues with accuracy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Issues: are that we might miss some and that some of them don’t really count as rubbish
Table/ Tally chart
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Analysis & Conclusion:
1x graph - either line, pie, or bar
Use data to answer your problem
Area | Total rubbish |
Field | 207 |
2 basketball court and 1 netball court | 46 |
Between the Kahuis | 13 |
Playground | 53 |
Learning commons | 23 |
Quad | 223 |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lincoln’s Conclusion: I’m more impressed with the results in the Quad because I know that a lot of people hang out there because it’s winter and all, and since that no one really doesn’t want to go to the field there is actually less rubbish in the field. The least rubbish is between the Kahuis. This comes to show that people need to put rubbish in the bin instead of just trying to hide it so that they don’t get in trouble making it. So basically they are just lazy and just can’t be bothered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeff’s Conclusion: I’m surprised because I thought that field is more rubbish than the Quad because there are more people going to the field, but there is more rubbish at the Quads, I think the cause is because people always eating when they walk around and just put the rubbish on the ground, maybe they try to put the rubbish in the Quads to hide it so the teacher can’t see the rubbish and so the teacher doesn’t know is whos and the people put the rubbish in there don’t get into trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Advance: I think that we need to add more rubbish bin to the walkways and behind the fake grass hill so people can put the rubbish in the bin, not on the ground or the Quads, and I think people should get a small bag when they finish eating so they can put there own rubbish in their own bag.

30 sec Film Task
For 2 weeks we have been assigned to make a film up to 30 - 35 seconds, with the help of Chris, Benjamen, and Tobey. Our short film is about a junior sneaking into the learning commons on a fine day but then gets caught by a teacher. Something I enjoyed making in the film was editing, I was enjoying it because it was so much fun learning how to add music, sound effects, and zoom in's. Some film techniques were some camera shots and lighting/color. Something challenging was to trim the parts we need to make it a 30 - 35-second film. Something I would do differently was to probably add another scene and add another sound effect to the gunshot.
Tobey as the Senior
Benjamen as the Teacher
Lincoln as the junior

Innovation Challenge - Lincoln C & Jared W
1.
Innovation Challenge
For this week we were assigned to do an innovation challenge and this challenge is to reuse a product and make changes to that product.
2. We use it to wash our hands and bodies, what we hate about it is that it sometimes gets into your eyes and it hurt horribly.
3. I want this product to not be slippery and not hurt when it gets into your eyes.
4. Some positive things about soap are that it cleans. Bathing soap prevents your skin from acne and pimples by cleaning the dirt and oil from the skin. The soap keeps the skin dry by removing the oil.
5. Remove the Alkaline from soap so that it doesn't hurt our eyes and replace it with something else
6. Make it bigger so that it could have a long time using it and clean more.
7. Butters and oils, dry flowers, Oatmeal, dry herbs, seeds, dead sea salt, Honey, milk. Some for fragrance, some are added as active ingredients and some are there to exfoliate or just to add some texture.
8. Soap should get an upgrade to have moisturizer in it so that after a shower we don’t have to put moisturizer on ourselves. The advantages of this are that you don't have to put moisturizer on ourselves after we take a shower. The Disadvantages are that some of the moisturizers was gonna get washed off.
Remove the Alkaline from soap so that it doesn't hurt our eyes and replace it with something else. The Advantages are that the alkaline from the soap doesn't hurt our eyes. Disadvantages we don't know what to replace the alkaline and it could be worse.
