How your hand works. When you move your hand they are mostly started by muscles in the forearm. They are only the thin tendons of these muscles that are found in the hand. The extensor tendons that are used for stretching your hand, they run through the back of your hand to the tips (Phalanges) of your fingers, and the bending tendons run through the palms to the fingers.
